Colour and highlights are added with watercolour, each piece individually hand painted.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe image size measures 30cm high (12\") x 21 cm wide (approx 8 1\/4\") with the paper larger as shown. Directly responding to their research helped her to understand that there are limits to our knowledge, and as habitat and species are lost forever, monitoring, measuring, preservation and protection are critical to survival. Tasmanian Waratahs grow wild on the slopes of kunanyi\/Mt Wellington where she lives in Southern Tasmania. They flower in late spring and their intense red colour seems to glow on the bush. This linocut is part of an ongoing series of mountain flowers.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eGrace hand carves the lino, and prints with oil based printing ink onto Stonehenge paper. For this series, she has chosen the deep kraft-coloured Stonehenge which gives the piece a warmth and depth. Colour and highlights are added with watercolour, each piece individually hand painted.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eThe image size measures 30cm high (12\") x 20 cm wide (approx 8 1\/4\") with the paper larger as shown. Each artwork is signed and numbered with the edition limited to 25. The sharp needle-like leaves can make a bright statement across the landscape at certain times of the year. In the summer, it bears small white flowers. It isn’t a well-known or highly prized plant, but for Grace it's such an important element in how she sees the summit landscape the artist's intention is to honour that with this linocut.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"\" style=\"white-space: pre-wrap;\"\u003eThis hand painted linocut measures approximately 30cm (12\") wide by 40cm (18\") high, not including signature.
