Island Immersion Exhibition

Island Immersion features new artworks by Artists Ingrid Kwong & Tyson Moore as individually, they delve deep into the Tasmanian landscape interpreting the ever-changing light and movement in the land, sky and sea.

Each artist captures in their own unique style, the moody hues of the varying Tasmanian Landscapes that they immerse themselves in. Ingrid painting upon salvaged timber, found or carried to her on the sea by the wind and tides, completely immersed in nature as she paints ~ with brush in hand and the environment in her heart, Ingrid mixes colours on a palette with sea and rain water, creating her ‘little scapes’.

Tyson's work tends to begin 'en plein air', as he is immersed in the environment he paints, playing with an element of abstraction, translating the environment through oils onto board. An emerging artist who has painted throughout his life, Tyson exhibits his artwork here for the first time.

The dance of each artist, whose individual journeys meet at a crossroad of immersion as they each find themselves in nature painting, immersed in the sense of place that develops as they allow the natural environments they explore to emerge into this series of artworks.
