In "Open Gate" the morning sunlight has burst over the hill behind and illuminated the landscape with vibrant colour. Grace loves the shapes in the huge old eucalyptus tree and the shadows cast in the early morning light. The open gate seems to be a metaphor for a new day and new possibilities.
Grace hand carves the lino and prints with oil based ink onto Stonehenge printmakers paper. Each print is individually hand painted with watercolour. The prints are numbered with the edition limited to 20.
This framed print is the last remaining print in this edition.
