"Strath is cheeky and charming. He is particularly chuffed this morning as he rows me out to show me his new darling 'Brolga'. So I snap a photo. He has sold everything he owns on the mainland and flown down to Tassie to make the purchase. We will later sail her to the mainland on a harrowing adventure with 4 close friends with very little sailing experience between us."

Tyson's work is inspired by the forms and tones existing in nature. His work tends to begin 'en plein air', as he is immersed in the environment he paints.

Passionate about capturing the light and full scape of composition as seen to the naked eye, Tyson plays with an element of abstraction as he translates the environment through oils onto board. 

A lifetime of painting, with much encouragement from the 'women of art' who raised him,  Tyson exhibits artworks for the first time with Bylanders Collective - from his Island Immersion.
